Custy basics
What is Custy?
Custy is the product customizer for your Shopify store. Shoppers design apparel and products in your store, then buy. You fulfill through Cheapest Print On Demand.
Do my customers need to leave my store to design?
No. They design on your storefront. The design experience opens from your product page and stays in your shopping flow.
What can customers customize?
They can add text, images, clipart, and designs on product sides you enable, then add the finished item to cart.
Does Custy work with print-on-demand?
Yes. Custy is built for print-on-demand workflows with Cheapest Print On Demand fulfillment.
Plans and billing
What are the paid plans?
Paid plans unlock more products, orders, and features. See Pricing for current limits and prices.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Paid plans include a 30-day free trial so you can evaluate Custy on your store before you are charged.
How do I get billed?
Billing runs through Shopify. You manage or cancel your plan from the app / Shopify billing screens.
Setup and storefront
Do I need technical skills to install it?
No. Install from the Shopify App Store, turn on the theme embed, and follow the Help Centre guides.
Can I use my own products?
Yes. You make products customizable in Custy and control sizes, colors, sides, and print options.
Will it slow down my store?
No. It loads where needed on product pages and does not replace your whole theme.
Can I change the Customize button?
Yes. You can adjust the button label and styling in settings so it matches your brand.
What if a customer abandons a design?
Designs can be saved and returned to, depending on how the customer uses the flow. Completed purchases create the custom product and order as usual.
The Customize It button is missing. What should I check?
Confirm Custy is installed, your plan or trial is active, and the Custy app embed is on for the theme shoppers see. Then preview the product again.
Switching to Custy
Can I move from Inkybay or another customizer?
Yes. Your Shopify products stay in place. You rebuild print areas, sizes, colors, and pricing in Custy, then switch shoppers when testing passes. Custy does not auto-import another app’s designer settings.
What do I need to rebuild versus what I keep?
You keep your Shopify catalog, theme, and checkout. You rebuild custom product setup in Custy: sizes, colors, print areas, and pricing rules.
How do I test Custy without breaking my live store?
Install Custy, set up a small pilot of products, and test on a duplicate theme, a hidden product, or a preview path before you remove the old customizer.
What should I verify before I switch shoppers to Custy?
Confirm the theme embed, pilot products, Design Lab → cart, and at least one test order with print-ready files. Then remove old customizer buttons.
What if something goes wrong after I switch?
Turn off Custy on the live theme or switch back to your previous theme, restore the old customizer path if you still have it, then fix the issue. Do not delete products in a panic.
Fulfillment and support
Who handles shipping and printing?
Cheapest Print On Demand handles production and shipping for fulfilled custom orders, based on your CPOD setup.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can change or cancel your plan from the app / Shopify billing. Your store stays yours.
Where do I get help?

An order is missing print files. What do I do?
Confirm the shopper used Customize It, then check the order in Shopify and Custy for print-ready artwork. Contact support with the order number if the file is still missing.
